Recent DX Activity

It has been pretty busy lately, Wake Island, Banaba Island, American Samoa, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Lakshadweep and more. Here on the west coast K9W was pretty easy. I worked them on all HF bands and even managed a QSO on 160 meters.

10 Meters and More

10 Meters has been great lately, I have well over 100 countries but only 66 confirmed so I really need to get some cards sent out so I can apply for DXCC.

VP8ORK Some Success

Well I only had a little luck with VP8ORK. I worked them on 30 meters and 160 meters. I’m real happy with the 160 QSO with my 29 foot vertical but I really wanted to work them on 80 meters. A couple of nights they were almost strong enough but not quite. 160 ended up being pretty easy however. I’ve still been working away at 80 meters. VP8ORK

Trying to work VP8ORK but just can’t hear him good enough. Friends with much better antennas nearby have barely been able to work them so I don’t feel too bad. I have made lots of QSOs for the 160 meter CW contest, however. Just US, Canada and Mexico, though. I have better luck on 160 outside the contest, managed to pick up Taiwan and Cambodia plus a couple of Asiatic Russia stations. Just hope propagation improves before VP8ORK packs up in February.
