xCluster for the Mac® will now be distributed via the App Store. xCluster for the Mac is a visual display of dx cluster activity. DX spots are received via telnet or web services and displayed on a map of the world. You can filter the spots by call sign or band Spots are created using the latitude and longitude of the dx station and spotter. The program has a call parsing component to determine the country for each call but can use QRZ.com for more accurate location data. Lookup priority is QRZ.com with the the call parser as a backup. There is a new version of xCluster available for download. The new release includes bug fixes and enhancements. For an overview see the original post introducing xCluster for the Mac. Please see the manual on the downloaded disk image for all of the update details. Release Notes: Fixed crashes when connected to DXSummit. Labels on buttons were not visible on small screens. xCluster for the Mac Overview: xCluster is a visual display of dx cluster activity. DX spots are received via telnet or web services and displayed in a tabular form and plotted on a map of the world. You can filter the spots by call sign or band. You may also configure it to only show FT4/FT8 spots.  Spots are created using the latitude and longitude of the dx station and spotter. Getting ready for VK0EK – Heard Island

This is a busy DX year. Lots of ATNOs to be had. For me it has been VP8STI and VP8SGI, I had already worked Palmyra back in 2005. The next ATNO for me will be VK0EK Heard Island. The VP8s have been difficult and I expect VK0EK to be even more difficult. I managed one 40 meter QSO with VP8STI and a 30 meter QSO with VP8SGI. Quest for FT5ZM

New DX on the air today. Amsterdam Island, FT5ZM showed up on the air this morning.

I had stayed up late last night trying to work some new ones during the CQ WW 160 meter contest. I only have a short vertical for 160 so it’s tough and I have to maximize the contests. Overall I did ok, three new ones, Jamaica, Cayman Islands and Korea.
