Working on 80 meters DX now!

I did a little better on DX this last week or so. Even with propagation pretty poor I picked up some new interesting ones. I worked V5/DJ2HD in Namibia on phone to go along with my 80 meter CW QSO with V5/DK1CE. Then I worked DU1/GM3POI on 80 meters CW for a new country on 80m. Right now I am listening for VQ9LA on Chagos Island on 80 meters but don’t hear a thing. It’s a little early, though, not quite gray-line yet. Hopefully I will hear him or he will be back on when I get up in the […]

Slow Progress

Well, I didn’t get any new countries on 80 meters during the RTTY Round Up. I had hoped I would get at least one. I did make a lot of contacts, however, even though I just worked on one band. Last night I managed to get CE1/K7CA on 80 meters for a new country, bad QRM and QSB too. This morning I did pretty good getting BU2AQ on 160 meters. And thats on my 29 foot base loaded vertical!

V5/DK1CE

Just worked V5/DK1CE in Namibia on 80 meters CW (o4:57 utc). That is really good considering he is in sunlight over there. One more new country for my 80 meter DXCC. I haven’t had a lot of luck this winter getting new ones on 80m. I missed him last night but a solid QSO tonight!
